This article uses material from the "Vocaloid Wiki:Song Article Guideline" article on the Vocaloid wiki at Fandom and is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License.

This article is a guideline for all song pages on the Vocaloid Lyrics Wiki. Please use this guideline if you want to make a new song page. If you cannot finish the page (in one go), please mark it with the WIP template with an indication of what still needs to be done (e.g., info, lyrics, romaji). Pages should be completed to the best of your ability. If a page does not have at least an attempt at the infobox and the lyrics in the original language for one day, it will be deleted. If you're having difficulty before the end of that time period, please contact an admin with an explanation of the issue.

To make a song page, CoolMikeHatsune22's song page generator (previous version can be found here) can be used for faster editing.

Please remember to make a redirect for romanized titles when creating pages for songs with non-romanized titles.

Important Notices[]

NOTICE: Please DO NOT use machine translations for romaji lyrics. Machine translations often misread kanji words, confuse conjugations with particles and neglect consonant change in compound words. Machine translated romaji is, therefore, incorrect and impossible to sing. Furthermore, some romaji transliterators make grave mistakes. Please avoid referring to these romaji transliteration sites.

NOTICE: When adding a translation to a page, the translator should be credited. The only exception to this rule is when the translation is by the author of the song or otherwise directly approved by the author of the song. When a translation is not credited, we cannot assess its accuracy. Thus uncredited translations are likely to be removed. To find reliable translators read this tutorial and translators list (or this continuation of the translators list).

NOTICE: Katakana romaji transliteration: It is becoming a trend to transliterate katakana words into capital letters in Vocaloid fandom, but you don't have to spell all katakana words in capital letters. It is a grammatical rule to spell foreign-oriented words in katakana. For example, coffee becomes コーヒー and this common noun doesn't have to be in capital letters. If you are not sure of the difference between adopted words and emphasized words, don't use capital letters.

About song titles[]

Songs with titles in Latin alphabets keep their name for articles.

Songs with titles in non-Latin alphabets or scripts should have the original title first, followed by the romanization in parentheses.

Words of foreign origin are kept in the original language in the romanization. These words are usually from English, but French, Spanish and German ones are not uncommon either.

If two songs have the exact same title, the article should have the original title first, followed by a slash and then the producer name. Note that these articles should have the exact same title, so songs where the capitalization is different (for example a song called "LOVE" and another one called "Love") do not have to have the producer's name added.
If one wants to add a song the same name as another song already present on the wiki, then the new page should follow the "TITLE/PRODUCER" format and the old page should be renamed to the "TITLE/PRODUCER" format. In case the old page is actually a redirect and not a song page, the redirect should be turned into the new song page. So the new song page should not follow the "TITLE/PRODUCER" format, and the old song page (not the redirect, but the page the redirect led to) should not be renamed, either.
In all of these scenarios, both articles should be added to a disambiguation page. If a disambiguation page with the name of the song is not yet created, one should be made.

Lowercase titles[]

Some songs have titles that begin with a lowercase letter. When trying to make a page for those songs, Wiki will automatically make the first letter uppercase. To make sure that the title is displayed correctly on the page, the DISPLAYTITLE template should be added:

Example:

This should result in a page with a lower case title.
This template also works for other song titles which cannot be displayed correctly due to the Wiki titling system.

About the song box[]

The song box is a template that summarizes the basic information of a song. It can be added using the source code below, or by searching for "Infobox Song" in the "Add a template" option in the Visual Editor. This template cannot be found using the infobox search option.

  • image: This is where you put a photo / image which represents the song. When a song doesn't have an image that represents the song specifically (which often happens on piapro), you can use either the boxart or the "no image" art from piapro. Some of them have already been uploaded: Miku, Luka, Rin, Len, KAITO, MEIKO, GUMI, Gackpo, Yuki, Lily, Ryuto, Rion, Yukari, Lapis, kokone, ARSLOID, Sachiko, Yumemi Nemu, Otomachi Una, Kizuna Akari, Nekomura Iroha, VY1, No Image (and IA without the character image).
  • songtitle: The original title of the song, the romanization and (if there is one) the English translation.
  • color: The color of: Original Upload Date, Singer, Producer(s), Views and Links. See the Color page for help with the hex codes. The format for choosing a color is "HEX1; color: HEX2", where HEX1 is the color of the background and HEX2 the color of the text (e.g. "#000000; color: #FFFFFF" will give you a black background with white text).
  • original upload date: This is where you put the original upload date of the song. That is, the upload date of the upload by the original author (so not the date a reprint was uploaded). If the original upload date is not available, put "N/A" instead of the upload date here. If the song is only available on an album, put the date the album was released as the upload date and state that it is the release date of the album. The date can be added using the Date template. The syntax of this template is as follows: Year. If a song was uploaded on March 1st 2009, for example, the syntax of the Date template should be 2009. This template automatically sorts pages into a year category, so there is no need to add these manually. If a song has multiple release dates (e.g. it was first released on an album, it has multiple versions), only the earliest release date should use the date template. The other release date should use a text-based format. For example, if a song was released on February 29th 2009 and a remake was released on May 8th 2010, the syntax would be as follows: Original: 2009<br />Remake: May 8, 2010.
  • singer: The "singer" section is where you should put the singers. Please note that synthesized singers should be limited to vocal synths that were knowingly recorded by people who consented to have their voice used for text-to-song/text-to-speech or that have purely synthesized voices.
  • producer: The persons who worked on the song. These persons can be, for example, the composer, the lyricist and the illustrator. Note that each of these should be a person who used their own work to create the song element: a text-to-image model, for example, should not be credited as an "illustrator," nor should someone who inputted a prompt into a text-to-image model. The producer's name can link to
    1. a redirect to a song list category for the producer, e.g., <NAME HERE>; or
    2. if the producer's name clashes with the name of another page, a direct link to the song list category, e.g., <NAME HERE>; or
    3. (optional) if there is no song list category, another site, such as Vocaloid Wiki or VocaDB, with information about the producer.
  • #views: This is where you mention the viewcount of the original upload. Views from reprints do not count and should not be put here. Auto-generated by YouTube videos are not counted as reprints, so their viewcounts can be added. If the song is uploaded on two different platforms, both viewcounts should be displayed. For example, if a song is uploaded on both Niconico and YouTube, the views should be displayed as follows:
    • xx,xxx+ (NN), xxx,xxx+ (YT)

These are the abbreviations for the more common websites on which songs are uploaded:

Viewcounts should always be rounded down.

  • If a song has less than 1,000 views, it should be rounded off to one digit: 8+, 60+, 200+
  • If a song has 1,000 views or more, it should be rounded off to two digits: 1,200+, 34,000+, 160,000+, 1,400,000+

If the viewcount is not available or the song is only available on an album, put "N/A" instead of the viewcount. If the song has been removed but the viewcount is still available, the viewcount should not be rounded off.

  • link: The link to the original video(s).
    • If the song is only available on an album, do not put a link here. Put "N/A" instead.
    • If the song is a reprint and not an official upload, this should be indicated by placing <small>(reprint)</small> after the link. This will result in (reprint).
    • If the song has been deleted, the link to the upload by the author (if available) should be added, but marked as deleted by placing <small>(deleted)</small> or <small>(removed)</small> after it.
    • If a video has accurate English subtitles, add <small>(subbed)</small> for an original video, or <small>(reprint, subbed)</small> for a reprint.
    • If a video has been created automatically by YouTube, place <small>(autogenerated by YT)</small> after the link.
    • Take care not to add links to unlicensed reprints of album-only songs.
    • Bandcamp links and Spotify links can also be included in this section.
  • description: Something about the song. This can be a quote by the author, or just the story of the song. This part of the template is not mandatory.
    • Sometimes only previews of a song are available and the full song has not yet been released. It is not recommended that you add these songs. However, if you do, please add the Preview template to the description part of the infobox.

About the Lyrics[]

The lyrics section is where you put the lyrics of the song. If lyrics are not written in the Latin alphabet, adding the romanization of the lyrics is necessary. However, many online "Japanese to romanization" converters are inaccurate and don't agree with the lyrics that are sung. Therefore it is important to proofread what you get. Many sets of kanji can have multiple readings and meanings.

  • 見物 kenbutsu means "sightseeing" and 見物 mimono means "spectacle".
  • sora means "sky" and 空 kara or kuu means "empty/emptiness".
  • as an honorific is kun and 君 as a pronoun is kimi.
  • 二人 is rarely ni nin.
  • 何か is pronounced as either nanika or nanka, and 何も nani mo or nan mo.

Because machine translators cannot read the context, they can't make the correct choice.

In addition, many compound words are affected by rendaku or consonant change which machine translations often neglect.

  • kao (face) becomes gao when following another word. 泣き顔 naki+kao (crying face) becomes nakigao.

Yojijukugo should be romanized as one string of characters.

  • 威風堂々 is ifuudoudou.

Mandarin to pinyin converters tend to be more accurate, but it's worth noting that several specific words tend to trip these converters up. Some names may be romanized improperly too (luò tiān yī instead of Luò Tiānyī).

  • is almost always read as de, except in the word 目的 mùdì or 的确 díquè.
  • de is a participle used after verbs/adjectives to connect a degree complement, is a verb that usually means "to obtain", and děi is a verb complement meaning "ought to" or "need to".
  • is usually read as the participle le and is less often liǎo in specific compound words.
  • dōu means "all", "even" or "already", and means "city".
  • xíng is often used when talking about movement/journeys, while háng generally refers to lines/rows or occupations.
  • (present only in Traditional Chinese) is the feminine form of 你 and pronounced the same way, as , not nǎi.
  • 誰 / 谁 is nearly always shéi in standard Chinese; the shuí pronunciation is region-specific and not used in most vocal synth songs.
  • zhòng means "heavy", and 重 chóng means "again".
  • 長 / 长 zhǎng is a verb meaning "to grow", and cháng is an adjective meaning "long".

Korean transliteration also needs a caution. ㅅ siot as a final consonant often becomes t, not s.

  • 못하다 (cannot do) is mot-ha-da, not mos-ha-da.
  • 바닷가 (coast) is ba-dat-ka, not ba-das-ka.

You can follow the next example that shows how to add the original language and romanization lyrics of a song:

Language and Romanization[]

Simply copy paste the original lyrics and the romanization to the space provided.

  • The original language always comes first
  • After that comes the romanization, under the original lyrics
  • Line breaks are created by adding a row with <br />
  • To quickly merge lyrics into a table, you can use Nefere's merger or ElectricRaichu's song page generator.
  • Sometimes lyrics are copied by ear. If this is the case, please add the Mimicopy template.
  • The lyrics may contain significant grammatical mistakes due to the creator's inexperience with the language. If this is the case, please add the <LANGUAGE> template.

Language, Romanization and Translation[]

The same as above, but now with three cells.

  • Keep in mind that not all fan translations are accepted on this wiki. Please check the Translation Guidelines before adding a translation.
  • Do not forget to credit the translator on the bottom of the Lyrics section. This can be done by using the Translator template. The syntax is as follows:
    <Translator's name>
. This template automatically adds a category for the translator.
    • To add multiple translators, add an extra parameter to the translator template. The syntax would them be:
      <Translator 1>
. The translator template supports up to three translators.
    • To specify which language a translator has translated, you can add the "parameter" to the template. The syntax is:

. In case two languages are done by different translators, two instances of the template need to be used. For example, on a page where John Doe translated Greek lyrics and Jane Doe translated Japanese lyrics the syntax would be:

  • Translyrics (the lyrics of the song intentionally translated in a way that you can still sing it to the original melody) are not acceptable translations.
  • A translation should only be called official when the producer themselves made the translation or it was otherwise directly approved by the producer. CC translations added by anyone other than the producer do not count as official translations.
  • If an official translation is available, please signify this by putting OfficialEnglish where English would normally be placed. The page will automatically be sorted into the Official English Translations category.
    • Official translations should be of similar quality as other translations that are added here. If the translation does not meet these standards it can be added to the page, but a note should be added that says the translation does not meet our normal quality standards. If this is the case, the "Intervention Required" and "Pages in Need of English Translation" categories should also be added. If you do not know whether the translation meets standards, the UnverifiedTranslation should be added. If an official translation is effectively gibberish (because it has been machine-translated, for example), it does not have to be added to the page.
  • CC translations on YouTube videos are not sufficiently guaranteed to be accurate translations. Please do not copy them to the wiki unless it's verified that it is a reliable translation.
    • Furthermore, please credit the translator as "anonymous" unless the translator is credited in the translation itself or you can verify the translation's source. The credits mentioned in the YouTube description are not reliable and can foster misunderstandings. If your translation is credited as anonymous, and you want us to use your alias, please leave a comment on the relevant page or contact an administrator. Similarly, if your translation is miscredited to someone else, please leave a comment or contact an administrator as well.
  • We currently only have a list of reliable translators for Japanese to English translations. When adding translations for a song in a language other than Japanese, please add the UnverifiedTranslation template below the translator's name. The language can be specified by replacing <Language> in <Language> with the desired language. When the translation has been checked by a native speaker, the template can be removed. Pages with this template will be automatically sorted into the Unverified Translations category.

English language lyrics[]

If you are creating a page for an English song, you can use <poem></poem> (note: Lyrics can be used too, if preferred). Note that songs with languages that do have the same alphabet as English (examples: Spanish, French) should still be put in a table, since a translation (if available) should be added.

<poem>Singing it's silent song of misery
A monster lies trapped in its own Nightmare
'He' is a tyrant
It lets out a plea

Why did she have to leave it all alone?
Bound to sing for us, a worthless monster
It never sees us
It despises us

Lying so useless, we start to holler
"Hey, get up you worthless Circus Monster!"</poem>

This should result in:

Singing it's silent song of misery
A monster lies trapped in its own Nightmare
'He' is a tyrant
It lets out a plea

Why did she have to leave it all alone?
Bound to sing for us, a worthless monster
It never sees us
It despises us

Lying so useless, we start to holler
"Hey, get up you worthless Circus Monster!"

Identifying sung parts[]

It is sometimes useful to use colored text to identify which vocalist is singing which parts of the lyrics. In this case, place a table immediately before the lyrics to indicate the color associated with each vocalist. The style of table most frequently used on this wiki is as follows:

style="background-color:<COLOR A>; color:<COLOR B>"|Singer
<span style="color:<COLOR 1>"><NAME OF SINGER 1></span>
<span style="color:<COLOR 2>"><NAME OF SINGER 2></span>

<COLOR A> and <COLOR B> are the colors used in the infobox, which gives the page a unified appearance. <COLOR 1>, <COLOR 2>, etc. are the colors used in the lyrics for each vocalist. Colors can be entered as names (e.g., "red") or as hex codes (e.g., "#FF0000"). If some parts are sung by all vocalists, it is customary to leave them in the normal text color with a table entry "both" (for duets) or "all" (for more than two singers).

For example, if a song featuring Kagamine Rin and Len has infobox colors

color = #996600; color:#ffcc66

with "darkorange" used for Rin's lines and "sienna" for Len's, then the following table can be used:

style="background-color:#996600; color:#ffcc66"|Singer
<span style="color:darkorange">Kagamine Rin</span>
<span style="color:sienna">Kagamine Len</span>
both

It will appear like this:

Singer Kagamine Rin Kagamine Len both

To color the lyrics, either style="color:<COLOR 1>;" or <span style="color:<COLOR 1>"> can be used. The codes are used in different ways: style="color:<COLOR 1>;" should be placed above the cell (i.e. right behind |-), while <span style="color:<COLOR 1>"> should be placed before the text. Examples are given below:

Language
Romanization
科学の限界を超えて
kagaku no genkai o koete

Warnings[]

Certain songs have content where it is useful for readers to be warned before reading the lyrics and/or watching the video.

Please see this warning guide for the warning templates used on this wiki. The guide has more detailed instructions on when to use and when to not use these templates, but tl;dr:

  • Epilepsy is used for flashing lights and other seizure risks.
  • Questionable and Explicit are used for sensitive content in lyrics and/or videos.
    • Questionable and Explicit templates must be specified like so: Again, see the guide for details.
    • If you can't think of a specific, concrete reason to add a content warning, don't add it.
  • Caution is used for warnings that don't fall under the previous categories (such as motion sickness).

Extremely Explicit Lyrics and Censoring[]

As Vocaloid Lyrics Wiki is hosted by fandom, it has to follow the fandom Terms of Use. Because of this extremely explicit lyrics sometimes have to be removed or censored. If only a part of the lyrics is censored, a notice template should be added above the lyrics:

Censoring

Which will result in:

If all the lyrics need to be removed, the following template should be placed where the lyrics would normally be:

RemovedLyrics

Which will result in:

Profanity should not be censored in the lyrics or title (e.g. Masked bitcH is not written as "Masked b***H" or anything similar), but slurs should be.

Translator Licenses[]

Sometimes a translator has a different license on their translations than the one the wiki uses. If this is the case, the Translator License template should be used:

1

To use the template correctly, the first value (1) should be the translator's name. The second value (2) should be the webpage on which the license is written down. The third value (3) is optional, and is used to specify whose website it is (his/her/their) and what kind of website it is (blog/tumblr/wordpress/etc.). If this value is not added, the template will display "their website".
The template should be placed directly below the "lyrics" headline, but before the lyrics themselves. For example:

Lyrics
Releska
Japanese
Romaji
English

Below is a list of translators with different licenses than the one this wiki uses. If a translator is missing, please add it to this list. Do keep in mind that it should be an accepted translator.

Alternate Versions[]

Sometimes a song will have alternate versions uploaded or otherwise officially approved by the producer. These versions can be displayed using the AlternateVersion template.

  • image: An image representing the song. If the video of the alternate version is the same as the original video, please do not upload a new file but instead reuse the song infobox file.
  • title: The title of the alternate version. Something like "Miku's version" or "Short ver." should suffice.
  • color: The color of the title part of the infobox. See the Color page for help with the hex codes.
  • translation: Alternate titles/translations for titles, if needed.
  • date: The original upload date of the alternate version.
  • singer: The singers of the song.
  • producer: The producers of the alternate version.
  • links: Links to the original upload(s) of the alternate version. Links should use the abbreviations used for viewcounts in the song infobox.
  • description: A description of the alternate version. Should only contain information that is not in the infobox already.

Alternate versions should go under the "Alternate Versions" heading, with the earliest uploaded version being in the main songbox, unless:

  • The earliest version has a human singer.
  • The earliest version doesn't have an existing PV (e.g. versions only found on albums, or versions with PVs that have been deleted).
  • The earliest version is a short version of the full song.

In all of the above cases, what goes in the main songbox should be the earliest full version with a PV sung by a vocal synth.

If a producer only contributed to a non-synth version, their category should not be added to the page.

Covers[]

Non-vocal synth songs[]

The main priority of this wiki is presenting original vocal synth songs. To make sure that cover songs will never take the focus on original songs away, a cover song should meet at least one of the criteria below to be allowed a page on this wiki. Note that "cover songs" in this context means covers of non-vocal synth songs.

  • The cover song in question has over 1,000,000 views on the official upload by the author of the cover. If a cover has official uploads on multiple platforms, it can be added if the total views (so added up) exceed 1,000,000. Example: Ievan Polkka
  • The cover song is a demo song for a commercial vocal synth. Example: Summertime/JMT
  • The cover song has been accepted as an official release in some capacity by the original producer. Example: Spectrum/kz

Any of the above means the Cover songs category should be added instead of "<VOCAL SYNTH> original songs."

  • A vocal synth self-cover by the original producer of a song with a human singer can be added as an original song. Example: Radio Noise
    • This includes vocal synth self-covers that were only produced for a game approved by the synths' company, such as Project SEKAI. Example: Hello, world!
  • A song with an original melody of which the lyrics are a pre-existing poem or other form of writing can be added as an original song. Example: 恐山ル・ヴォワール (Osorezan Revoir)
  • A remix of a soundtrack, to which the author of the cover added their own lyrics, can be added as an original song. Example: Lavender Town
  • Parodies of vocal synth songs can be added as pages. Parodies of non-vocal synth songs need to meet one of the above criteria.

Vocal synth songs[]

Notable cover songs or derivatives of vocal synth songs may be added in the "Notable Derivatives" section of the page. This section should be below the lyrics (or translation notes section) but above the external links and discography section. Please note that a song needs to fit one of the following criteria to be allowed in this section:

  • The song has over 1,000,000 views on the official upload by the author of the cover. If a cover has official uploads on multiple platforms, it can be added if the total views (so added up) exceed 1,000,000. Note that by "official upload", the upload of the cover artist is meant. For example, this cover would be an "official upload" while this upload would be a reprint of said cover. If only the reprint has exceeded 1,000,000 views, it can not be added as a notable derivative.
  • The cover song was featured in a game featuring vocal synths which was approved by the company who released said vocal synths.
    • Any 2DMVs for Project SEKAI should go in this section, regardless of whether the page is tagged "Project SEKAI Series" or not. Short 3DMVs should not be added.
  • The song is a spin-off with different lyrics and has a page here or on another wiki.
  • Note that if there are more than 15 derivatives, they should be listed using the macro format, and other derivatives should be listed afterwards in a bullet list with the following format:
    • <COVER TITLE 1> feat. <VOCALIST> [by <PRODUCERS>] - LINK1 LINK2
    • <COVER TITLE 2> feat. <VOCALIST> [by <PRODUCERS>] - LINK1
  • For an example, see this page.

This sections should not be used to display self-covers of the song featuring vocal synths which have (almost) the same lyrics as the original song.

The songs can be displayed using the NotableCover template.

  • image: An image representing the song. If the video of the cover is the same as the original video, please do not upload a new file but instead reuse the song infobox file.
  • title: The title of the cover. Something like "Kagamine Len's cover" or "Suzunosuke's PV" should suffice.
  • color: The color of the title part of the infobox. See the Color page for help with the hex codes.
  • singer: The singers of the song. This should only be added if the derivative has vocals (i.e. an instrumental cover does not need it).
  • producer: The producers of the cover. This should only be added in case someone other than the authors of the original song worked on the cover (so self-covers using human vocals should not use it).
  • links: Links to the original upload(s) of the cover. Links should use the abbreviations used for viewcounts in the song infobox. Please do not add reprints in this section.
  • description: A description of the cover. Should only contain information that is not in the infobox already. Should not contain quotes of the (cover) artist.

One row can have five cover infoboxes. After five of them, the Clr template should be used. This prevents the lay-out from looking weird. This template should also always be used after the last cover infobox.

Linking albums on song pages[]

In case a song has been featured on an album (excluding singles), a discography section can be added to the page. This section should be above the external links section, but below all other sections (so below derivatives, translation notes, etc.). The basic layout can be seen below. The list should be in order of release date, with the earliest album first. If an album has a page on this wiki or you are planning on making page, you can link to that album page in this section. When linking a song page to an album page, you can either use the original title of the album or the title of the page.

Discography
This song was featured in the following albums:
* Album 1
* Album 2
* Album 3

About the External Links[]

The external links section lists relevant links to the song. Examples of links that can be put here are:

  • Links to the song's website or webpage, official uploads of illustrations used in the video, relevant entries from the author's blog, and the like.
  • Links to entries of the song on other wikis and databases, for example Vocaloid Wiki, 初音ミクwiki, VocaDB, Niconico Pedia and Pixiv Encylopedia.
  • Links to webpages with the lyrics of the song, for example animelyrics.
  • Links to off-vocals, karaoke versions, sheet music, official MP3 downloads and what not. But ABSOLUTELY NO linking to illegal MP3 downloads is allowed. If the song is available on an album, links to purchase sites and album crossfades can be added too.

Categorizing[]

All song pages on this wiki must be in a category.

These are the categories that every song page should have.

Song Language and Vocal Synth Credits[]

For example, in the case of a Japanese language VOCALOID song featuring Hatsune Miku:

The template SynthCategory may also be used to simplify the addition of and . For example, to add categories for a song featuring the CeVIO KAFU and the VOCALOIDs Hatsune Miku & flower:

Some voicebanks may belong to more than one vocal synth engine, for example, Hatsune Miku, who has a voicebank released on the VOCALOID engine and a voicebank released on the Piapro Studio engine. A full list of these voicebanks is given in the Character Disambiguations category. If you do not know what engine the voicebank featured in a song belongs to, you may ask one of the content moderators.

If you do not know whether a Hatsune Miku song features Piapro Studio or VOCALOID, use the VOCALOID versions of the categories. Please note that a song is considered a Piapro Studio song when the voicebank(s) used in the song was specifically made for Piapro Studio. For example, a song which used Hatsune Miku's VOCALOID voicebank but has been rendered using (the old version of) piapro studio is still a VOCALOID original song. Only songs with voicebanks from the standalone version of Piapro Studio should have the categories mentioned above.

Producer Credits[]

If the music producer/composer of the song is known, please add the following category.

If other producers worked on the song but did not work on the music/composition, producer subcategories can be added. For producers which worked on the lyrics this is as follows.

For producers which worked on the arrangement this is as follows.

For producers which worked on the visuals (illustrators, animators, photographers, etc.) this is as follows.

For producers which worked on the tuning of the voicebanks, this is as follows.

For producers which worked on something else which does not fit in the above categories and excludes the music/composition, this is as follows.

Please note that producer subcategories are only added to a page when the producer was not involved with composing the song, so 愛の詩 (Ai no Uta)) should not get the "Lamaze-P songs list/Lyrics" subcategory. However, a page can have multiple subcategories from the same producer. For example, if Sohta worked on the lyrics, arrangement, and video of a song but did not contribute to the composition, three subcategories would have to be added for them (Sohta songs list/Lyrics, Sohta songs list/Arrangement, Sohta songs list/Video). If the page already has the main category of a producer an additional subcategory should not be added, but multiple subcategories of one producer can be added to the page.

English Translation needed[]

If the page does not have an English translation, please add the page to these categories.

Multiple Singers[]

If the song features more singers/vocal synths, some of these categories may need to be added.

Songs featuring human singers[]

If the song features human vocals in addition to vocal synths, the following category should be added.

Demonstrations[]

Songs that were released as demonstrations of a voicebank or a voice synth engine software should be tagged with the Demonstrations category.

Please note that for non-commercial vocal synths (such as in the case of many UTAU or DeepVocal voicebanks), the Demonstrations category should only be added if that song is an original song made by the voicebank developer. In other words, don't add the Demonstrations category to cover songs that were used to demonstrate a non-commercial voicebank.

Spin-offs[]

If the song is a spin-off of another song, the Spin-off category should be added. A spin-off song is a song with the same/very similar music to the original but different lyrics.

Album Only Songs[]

If the song can only be obtained by purchasing or downloading an album, the Album Only category should be added. Please note that songs with auto-generated YouTube videos should still be counted as album-only songs. Only if an official upload which was not automatically generated exists or has existed can the album-only category be removed.

Part of a Series[]

If the song is part of a series, the page should be added to the category for the series which you may find in the Song series category. Here are some examples of these categories.

To create a song series category, make a category with the name of the song series. Add at least a small description ("[SERIES NAME] is a series of songs by [PRODUCER]." is sufficient, although more information is always welcome), and add the Song series category to it.

Cover Songs[]

If the song is a cover song of a non-vocal synth song, the Cover songs category should be added instead of the :Category:<SYNTH ENGINE> original songs.

After the page is done[]

Try making redirects. This way your page will be easier to find. Making a redirect can easily be done by making a page for the romanized or English title, and then adding the following template.

#REDIRECT <PAGE NAME>

When the page has the same or a similar title to other pages, please check if there is a disambiguation for this title. If it is present, please add it to the disambiguation using the format below. If the song features more than two vocal synths, please use "multiple vocal synths" instead of the names of all the vocal synths used in that song.

<NAME SONG>, a song by <PRODUCER> featuring <NAME VOCAL SYNTH>.

When there is no existing disambiguation and two songs have the same name, please try to make one yourself using the layout below. The names of the producers should be in alphabetical order. Remember that the disambiguation page title should be suffixed with "(disambiguation)" to distinguish it from normal song articles.

disambig
<NAME SONG> may refer to:
*<NAME SONG>, a song by <PRODUCER> featuring <NAME VOCAL SYNTH>.
*<NAME SONG>, a song by <PRODUCER> featuring <NAME VOCAL SYNTH>.

For example, the two songs SAYONARA and Sayounara can be added to a disambiguation page titled "Sayonara (disambiguation)" with the following content:

disambig
Sayonara may refer to:
*SAYONARA, a song by Tiara featuring Hatsune Miku.
*さようなら (Sayounara), a song by Sohta featuring Kaai Yuki.

Songs with the exact same name in the Latin script should be disambiguated as shown below:

disambig
Sayonara may refer to:
*SAYONARA/Tiara, a song by Tiara featuring Hatsune Miku.
*SAYONARA/TKN, a song by TKN featuring GUMI.

Songs with the same English name that are written in non-English languages should be disambiguated with the overrideenglish parameter:

disambig
Goodbye may refer to:
*, a song by Rainbow Rhodes featuring MAIKA.
*, a song by Ringo featuring Hatsune Miku.

Disambiguations with similar names can be added below the songs using the following format:

See also <NAME> (disambiguation)

For examples, you can look at Trap (disambiguation) and Proof (disambiguation). If the content from one disambiguation page is duplicated on a less specific disambiguation page, the duplicated content on the less specific disambiguation page can be removed. For example, all "Proof of Life" mentions on the "Proof" disambiguation page can be removed, because the "Proof of Life" disambiguation already exists.

Sometimes an existing page will need to be renamed in order to be disambiguated with. You can hover over the three vertical dots to the right of "EDIT," click "Move," and fill out the form. (Make sure to uncheck the "Move subpages" box.) The "Page Tools" sidebar to the right of the screen has a "What links here" button, letting you know where the name will have to be changed (e.g. on album or producer pages).

About Categories[]

Sometimes a producer or voicebank doesn't have a category on the wiki yet. If this is the case, please make a category following the instructions below. Do keep in mind that the producer or new voicebank should have a song page first, to avoid empty categories.

Making New Categories[]

The easiest way to create a new category is to label a song with the category first, and then let Wikia help you create it.

  1. Label the song with the category in one of the following ways:
    • in source mode, add a line for the category as detailed above, i.e.., ""; or
    • in classic editor mode, add it via the "Categories" column on the right; or
    • after the song is created, click on the "Add category" button near the bottom of the page, add it there, and click "Save".
  2. Once the song page is saved, a red link to the category should appear in the list of categories at the bottom of the page. Click on that link, and Wikia will automatically take you to a page for creating the category. Enter the contents of the category page as explained below and click "Save page".

Please note that it may take a day for the category to show up in the automatic category selection menu in the "Categories" column on the right of classic editor mode.

Producer Categories[]

Producers which work on voice synth songs should get a producer category. Please keep in mind that when creating a producer category, it should always be called "<Producer name> songs list". Before making the category, please check if the producer doesn't have another category already under another name. This can easily be done by looking for their popular works. Only add a producer category if you are absolutely positive it hasn't been added yet. For information on how to make a producer page, please see the Producer Article Guideline. The layout of the main producer category is as follows:

}}

So, for Jin (who has the aliases 自然の敵P, じん, Shizen no Teki P), a correctly filled in template would be:

自然の敵P, じん, Shizen no Teki P

Which will result in:

This is a list of original songs produced by the song producer, Jin (自然の敵P, じん, Shizen no Teki P).

For Tracy Poe, who does not have any aliases, a correctly filled in template would be:

Producer

Which will result in:

This is a list of original songs produced by the song producer, Tracy Poe.

Additional information and links can be added after the template if desired, but this is not mandatory. For example:

  • Occupation of the producer (illustrator, composer, lyricist, etc.)
  • Links to platforms where the producer posts their work
  • Links to external websites with information on the producer (e.g. Vocaloid Wiki)

When you are done with creating the category, a redirect to the producer category should be made. The producer template automatically adds all necessary categories so these do not have to be added.

Producer categories also have five possible subcategories related to song pages, these being Lyrics, Arrangement, Visuals (anything related to the video, illustrators, photographers, etc.), Tuning, and Other (anything that is not music/composition and doesn't fit into the previous categories). Note that these subcategories should only be made if a page has been added where this category can be used. The subcategory is created by adding "/SUBCATEGORY NAME" behind the main producer category. So, for example, a Lyrics category for Crystal-P would have the name "Crystal-P songs list/Lyrics". When adding these categories, the following templates can be used:

Lyricist Arranger Visuals Tuner ProducerOthers

These templates can be copy-pasted into the category and will automatically add relevant names and categories. They do not have to be filled in. So, the syntax for the Crystal-P songs list/Lyrics category is as follows:

Lyricist

Only if the producer category is actually for a producer group (like a duo, a band, etc.) should the template be filled in. For example, for a HoneyWorks songs list/Tuning subcategory, the syntax would be as follows:

group

Translator Categories[]

Translator categories can be made by using the TranslatorCat template. Much like the producer template, the TranslatorCat template does not require input and can be added to the category as is.

Voicebank Categories[]

Voicebank categories can be made using the following layout:

  • Image: Official art of the character in question, if available
  • voicesynth: the type of voice synthesizer (e.g., VOCALOID, CeVIO)
  • origname: name in original language
  • language: language in which the voicebank is available (e.g., Japanese, Mandarin, English, but also trilingual, bilingual)
  • developer: developer of the voicebank
  • releasedate: first release date of the voicebank
  • voiceprovider: voice provider of the voicebank, only fill in this parameter if the voice provider is different from the developer
  • readmore: link to website with more information
  • sitename: name of the readmore site
  • characterdisambig: if a character disambiguation is available, add "1" here. For information on how to make a character disambiguation, please look at the template documentation.
  • other: if the voice synthesizer type of this voicebank does not have a dedicated category (i.e. if this is the only category of the website featuring this type of voice synthesizer), add "1" here

After the category has been made, a disambiguation should be added to the category. Important notes:

  • Please do not add categories for fanloids, Utaites or other singers. These do not belong here and will be deleted immediately.
