Lyrics
Japanese | Romaji | English |
バックレたきゃ | bakkuretakya | Wanna skip out?[2] |
さあどうぞ このまま | saa douzo kono mama | Well then go ahead, |
パッと消えちゃって | patto kiechatte | disappear completely as you are |
まあなんてことはない | maa nante koto wa nai | Whatever, that stuff doesn’t matter in the first place, |
だってそもそも僕がやりだした | datte somosomo boku ga yaridashita | this is something I started after all |
誰もがこっ恥ずかしい洗脳を経て経て | dare mo ga koppazukashii sennou o hetehete | Everyone has to go through such humiliating[3] brainwashing |
こっから先へ | kokkara saki e | from here on out |
熱気だけで走り出しては | nekki dake de hashiridashite wa | Every time we run with only our enthusiasm, |
派手に転んで | hade ni koronde | we flamboyantly fall right over |
今宵、最下位 濃い思い出 | koyoi, saikai koi omoide | Tonight, take those deepest and darkest memories |
また消して | mata keshite | and erase them again |
何回 暗い今日だっていい | nankai kurai kyou datte ii | All these dark days[4] don’t even matter[5] |
一夜限りの"狂"でいれるなら | ichiya kagiri no "kyou" de ireru nara | as long as I can remain within the “insanity (today)” of just this one night |
全て差し出せるさ | subete sashidaseru sa | I could just give up my everything |
脳内 「くだらない」ばっかり | nounai "kudaranai" bakkari | My head[6] is full of nothing but |
問い続けては 一人きりで幾つも戸を開ける | toitsuzukete wa hitorikiri de ikutsu mo to o akeru | “good for nothing” questions I ask myself as alone, I open door after door[7] |
鬼を呼び覚ますように | oni o yobisamasu you ni | as if to rouse the sleeping Oni[8] |
あーまた何もしないうちに | aa mata nani mo shinai uchi ni | Man, before anything even gets done, |
ただただ 時間が過ぎ去っていくな | tada tada jikan ga sugisatte iku na | time only, only passes me by |
頭の中はパッパラパー | atama no naka wa papparapaa | I may seem like complete a idiot, |
そうに見えてフル回転さ ジャンケンパー | sou ni miete furu kaiten sa jankenpaa | but my head’s really operating on full throttle, rock paper scissors |
日々 前に前にもがく様に | hibi mae ni mae ni mogaku you ni | Day in day out, it’s like it’s a struggle just to move forward, |
到達点へにじり寄る今日に | toutatsuten e nijiriyoru kyou ni | as these days just keep creeping up on their final destination |
勘違いがないと始まらない | kanchigai ga nai to hajimaranai | No misunderstandings? Then nothing’s gonna ever begin! |
丁寧丁寧丁寧に描き出して | teinei teinei teinei ni egakidashite | Neatly, carefully, and thoroughly[9] sketch that all out |
何回 辛い今日だっていい | nankai tsurai kyou datte ii | All of these painful days don’t even matter, |
一夜限りの"興"でいれるなら | ichiya kagiri no "kyou" de ireru nara | as long as I can remain in the “amusement (today)”[10] of only this single night, |
全て差し出せるさ | subete sashidaseru sa | I could just give up my everything |
後悔・要らない なんてない | koukai iranai nante nai | Regrets? It’s not like I don’t need them[11] |
生きる全てが 興に変わるから | ikiru subete ga kyou ni kawaru kara | because all things that live become that amusement (today), |
今も火を灯して | ima mo hi o tomoshite | and even now that lights the fire |
千回泣き出したっていい | senkai nakidashita tte ii | Even crying thousands of times is just fine, |
自分を信じて | jibun o shinjite | as long as you believe in yourself |
歩いていけば | aruite ikeba | and can keep moving forward, |
いつか報われるさ | itsuka mukuwareru sa | someday you'll be rewarded |
何回 暗い今日だっていい | nankai kurai kyou datte ii | All these dark days don’t even matter |
一夜限りの"狂"でいれるなら | ichiya kagiri no "kyou" de ireru nara | as long as I can remain within the “insanity (today)” of just this one night, |
全て差し出せるさ | subete sashidaseru sa | I could just give up my everything |
脳内 「くだらない」ばっかり | nounai "kudaranai" bakkari | My head is full of nothing but |
問い続けては 一人きりで幾つも戸を開ける | toitsuzukete wa hitorikiri de ikutsu mo to o akeru | "good for nothing" questions I ask myself as alone, I open door after door |
鬼を呼び覚ますように | oni o yobisamasu you ni | as if to rouse the sleeping Oni |

Translation Notes
- ↑ Oni is a japanese youkai, not a demon or ogre. They aren’t always evil, but they typically are fericous, hulking, horned beasts that wear only loincloths and carry huge clubs. They come in different colors. They are known for causing havoc through natural disasters, plauges, and having a bottomless appetite for human flesh and even their own. They are also able to transform into different forms to trick their prey. In buddhist mythology Onis are sometimes created after a soul considered beyond redepention is sent to the lowest confines of hell, transforming into these evil creatures. If a human is evil enough while alive, they may also transform into Oni, showing they are the worst of the worst. Overall, Demons and ogres both have different nuance in english and aren’t nearly as scary as the Japanese Oni and don’t quite invoke the same image, so I’m leaving the word untranslated.
- ↑ バックレ means to skip work/class/ Similar to サボる but more of a slang term. たきゃ is just “want to?” This is the start of the song, so it’s unclear what’s being skipped, but the song might be alluding to skipping out on life itself.
- ↑ こっ恥ずかしい is slang for a little embarrassing or extremely embarrassing. It’s really just “hazukashii” with the added prefix of 小(ko-) meaning small to make koppazukashii. It can either be "little" or "many," depends on context
- ↑ This song uses 今日(kyou), meaning today often however it doesn’t translate well into English so I’ve translated as “these days”. The sound “kyou” is also repeated many times in the song.
- ↑ くらい/暗い here has a double meaning. くらい usually modifies 何回 meaning about how many times however the character here 暗い also means dark which modifies day. When read aloud these words sound exactly the same, but inclusion of 暗 completely changes the meaning of the sentence.
- ↑ 脳内 is also literally inside of their brain. In the video the characters 左脳 and 右脳 appear when 脳内, being the left and right side of the brain respectively. Then くだらない, meaning “good for nothing”, fills the screen when ばっかり, meaning “nothing but”, is said.
- ↑ 戸 is Specifcially the japanese style sliding door. The Lyrics also part like an opening door. This potentially can have a double meaning referencing a demon gate (鬼門)which is the door that faces northeast that invites in spirits and demons. Because of this it’s considered unlucky, most temples are built in this direction as to protect and ward off Onis. Similarly 戸 and 門 can in some cases be synonyms.
- ↑ 呼び覚ます has the specific nuance of calling out to wake or rouse something from sleep, however, considering how the speaker also talks about recalling memories, the double meaning of invoking sleeping memories from one brain as if the memories themselves are Onis also exists.
- ↑ 丁寧 is repeated, but it does mean to do something carefully, thoroughly, or neatly. Since’s repeated 3 times I used all three words. The video also shows the underlying sketch of the character as well
- ↑ Just like 狂 from before, 興 stands alone here and can mean amusement, entertainment, or interest. It’s also pronounced “kyou” like 今日
- ↑ When iranai is said, the character in the video disappears. As if they themselves are the regrets (後悔)
