Lyrics[]
I never want the rain to end...
I never want my rain/reign to end!
So you wondered where it came from, this torrential pour of rain...
Well, I'll tell you now, it's not a fluke: it's the outcome of my reign!
It all started way back when, you see, in a patch of desert mess,
with a young boy always praying for his mother, so sickened and distressed.
Oh, Lord, I can't explain! My mother dear, her end is near!
She needs to be treated with extra good care, a veg'table garden with goodies to spare.
So dry, it never pours! The tank is cracked, the hose is worn!
I'd give my soul to make it rain; I'd give it all up so she could be saved!
And the skies did open with a peal of fright'ning thunder,
a God of Storms came and tore my world asunder!
To acquire power over all precipitation, it calls for a small donation...
Just a bit of your love and a bit of your soul makes this pitiful boy become beautifully whole!
So I made my bond to the tempest with glee. I made my choice as my powers were freed!
And so I'll see a world of plenty.
I plant the seed and watch it growing.
And so I'll feed on the fruits of my labor!
A little water, some dirt and some time...
That's what it takes to make a garden divine!
I see it happen before my eyes
and I would hope it lasts forever...
I can certainly try!
I had raised a garden full of food aplenty, but it had come to grief.
No, my mother's lost forever in her slumber; no food could bring relief.
I have no time left for mourning now, there is so much work to do!
In my mother's memory, I fill the world aplenty to feed the hungry few.
I had planned a course to create a fertile world:
I will command the storms to plow and irrigate the deserts,
turn everything into a garden horn-of-plenty
so that everyone grows healthy.
With a bit of my love from the last of my soul, I will bring the planet to a decent whole.
With the world so frail, there can be no mistakes. I made my choice as I felt the Earth quake!
And so I made my world of plenty,
genetically manipulated!
No more disease in the name of my mother!
It's under my power to control.
I know anything is possible.
A little overwhelming to comprehend!
I never want my rain/reign to end!
Oh no! What can I do?
The heat is rising in my stormy brew: a volatile mixture of pollution and greed.
Contemptible climates, they cannot succeed!
No, no! It's all gone wrong!
A hurricane is coming—won't be long for everything I've made from rain to go unchained!
My efforts in vain...
Just a temporary setback, there is no cause for alarm.
With the crops uprooted and houses wrecked, hope nobody's come to harm.
It's a side-effect of my reign of rain, I'm often unable to control
what I have unleashed upon this world; it's taken quite a toll!
But there is one way.
Hear my sensible proposal: my control of weather all at your disposal.
Such mighty power beyond imagination, and all for a small donation...
With a bit of our love and a bit of our soul, we can take the fractions, form a decent whole.
So you'll join in my Neverending Rain/Reign?
