依山臨水 景看舊 | yī shān lín shuǐ jǐng kàn jiù | By the mountains and waters, watching the scenery till we tire |

㶈溪潺潺 炊煙悠悠 | yíng xī chánchán chuīyān yōuyōu | The clear stream ambled on, the chimney smoke lazily wafted |
敢請東風 玉成雙偶 | gǎn qǐng dōngfēng yùchéng shuāng ǒu | I appealed to the eastern wind, grant us our union |
遙遞佳信 知否知否 | yáo dì jiā xìn zhī fǒu zhī fǒu | As I send out my letter from afar, do you know, do you know? |
爲理雲鬓 爲簪銀鉤 | wèi lǐ yúnbìn wèi zān yín gōu | Hair fixed and fastened with a silver pin |
明月可鑒 情深亦壽 | míngyuè kě jiàn qíng shēn yì shòu | The bright moon shall witness, this love is as deep as the moon is old |

Translation Notes
The song is an alternate, tragic version of the story of The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, where Luo Tianyi's character is a mortal and Yuezheng Ling's character is an immortal. They fall in love but are forced to separate.
- ↑ The phrase 金風玉露 autumn wind and dew is closely associated with the Cowherd and Weaver Girl, in part due to Qin Guan's poem "Magpie Bridge Immortals" 鵲橋仙, since they reunite every autumn during Qixi. Here it is possible to interpret this as Tianyi and Ling's annual reunion and how long they must wait each year, but it doesn't fit into the tragic separation of the rest of the song nor the initial joy of this first part of the song.
- ↑ Alternatively, "When will it be when we can hold hands again?"
- ↑ May be a reference to lines cautioning against leaning against high floors out of longing in poems such as Fan Zhongyan's "To the Tune 'Screened by Su Curtain' - Nostalgia" or Ouyang Xiu's "Lyrics to the Melody of 'Walking on Grass.'" Deities are often imagine to dwell in high places, hence the singer is on a high floor.
- ↑ A solitary wife counting red beans to pass the time while she waits for her husband to return is a literary trope. Red beans often symbolize mutual longing.
- ↑ A reference to the zither line of the first chorus.
- ↑ Alternatively "When will it be when we can relish the seasons together?"
