Description
"I present to you a cherry blossom-esque song. Everybody should come hang out at our secret base!" |
Lyrics
Japanese | Romaji | English |
Daitanfuteki ni haikara kakumei | Bold and fearless, a white-collared revolution[1] |
Rairairakuraku hansen kokka | Forbearing and rustic - a pacifist regime[2]
Hinomarujirushi no nirinsha korogashi | Rolling two-wheels, with a crest of the Rising Sun |
ICBM | Akuryoutaisan ICBM | Begone, evil spirits - ICBM |
Kanjousen o hashirinukete | Through the peripheral lines, darting and dashing |
Touhonseisou nan no sono | Hurriedly toiling about, no big deal |
Shounen shoujo sengokumusou | Young men and women, unmatched among warmongers |
Ukiyo no manima ni | As our fleeting world dictates[3] |
Senbonzakura yoru ni magire | Sakuras thousandfold, entwined with night |
Kimi no koe mo todokanai yo | Even your voice, shall not reach here |
Koko wa utage hagane no ori | Herein rages a feast, a cage of steel |
Sono dantoudai de mioroshite | From that guillotine, looking down upon |
Sanzen sekai tokoyo no yami | A transcendent universe[4], gloom of the empyrean |
Nageku uta mo kikoenai yo | Even the lamenting songs, shall not be heard |
Seiran no sora haruka kanata | The indigo skies, lies faraway yonder
Sono kousenjuu de uchinuite | With that ray gun, impale the azures! |
Hyakusenrenma no mitame wa shoukou | The battle-hardened, veiled as an officer |
Ittarikitari no oiran douchuu | Loitering about with courtesans, truly a wanderlust |
Aitsu mo koitsu mo minna de atsumare | That guy, this guy, everybody round up |
Seija no koushin wan tsuu san shi | The Saints' march - one, two, three, four |
Zenjoumon o kugurinukete | Passing through under the Zen gate
Anrakujoudo yakubarai | The blissful lands, driving out evils |
Kitto saigo wa daidanen | Surely the finale will be laded with happiness |
Hakushu no aima ni | In-between the applauding, |
Senbonzakura yoru ni magire | Sakuras thousandfold, entwined with night |
Kimi no koe mo todokanai yo | Even your voice, shall not reach here |
Koko wa utage hagane no ori | Herein rages a feast, a cage of steel |
Sono dantoudai de mioroshite | From that guillotine, looking down upon |
Sanzen sekai tokoyo no yami | A transcendent universe, gloom of the empyrean |
Nageku uta mo kikoenai yo | Even the lamenting songs, shall not be heard |
Kibou no oka haruka kanata | The hills of hope, lies faraway yonder |
Sono senkoudan o uchiagero | With that flash grenade, signal the skies! |
Kanjousen o hashirinukete | Through the peripheral lines, darting and dashing |
Touhonseisou nan no sono | Hurriedly toiling about, no big deal |
Shounen shoujo sengokumusou | Young men and women, unmatched among warmongers |
Ukiyo no manima ni | As our fleeting world dictates |
Senbonzakura yoru ni magire | Sakuras thousandfold, entwined with night |
Kimi no koe mo todokanai yo | Even your voice, shall not reach here |
Koko wa utage hagane no ori | Herein rages a feast, a cage of steel |
Sono dantoudai o tobiorite | From that guillotine, jumping right off! |
Senbonzakura yoru ni magire | Sakuras thousandfold, entwined with night |
Kimi ga utai boku wa odoru | You shall sing, and I shall dance |
Koko wa utage hagane no ori | Herein rages a feast, a cage of steel |
Saa kousenjuu o uchimakure | Here, with the raygun, do go ballistic![5] |

Translation Notes
- ↑ "ハイカラ" implies obsession with the West, the haughty middle class, and refers to this atmosphere in the Meiji era, when used in modern context. Hence the "White-collared revolution" not only to imply the haughty middle class, but also to imply the obsession with "White" culture.
- ↑ 磊々落々 means easygoing, without sweating the small things, carefree. If I'm being really literary, it can be "Forbearing and rustic" - rustic referencing to the carefree and clueless atmosphere of countrymen, or geographically Japan, an isolated nation.
- ↑ Contextually 浮世の随に means "Life goes on as this floating world (our world) goes on" so, hence the phrase "As our fleeting world dictates".
- ↑ 三千世界is the "universe". It literally means 1000^3 worlds. So, "an encompassing universe" or "A transcendent universe" - would work - or something that makes us feel small in comparison. As for 常世之闇、 常 means ever-existing, perpetual, or something that's always there. 常世 is a perpetual/standardized world (lit.) and is the godly world. I chose "empyrean" because it was the only godly world I could find with "standard", "ever-lasting" elements.
- ↑ Original meaning is shooting the raygun repeatedly, in a frenzy. So I used "Here, with the ray gun, do go ballistic!" (The tone of the singer when she chants ”打ちまくれ!” sounds like a call or a prompt to do as she says, hence the "do go ballistic")
