Lyrics

Japanese Romaji English
なにその目やっぱその目 nani sono me yappa sono me What's with that look? That look I knew you'd give me
はじめましてじゃないね hajimemashite ja nai ne It's not the first time I've seen it, after all
なにその目もうやめて nani sono me mou yamete What's with that look? Just stop it already
可愛いだけ なのに罪の味 kawaii dake nano ni tsumi no aji Sure, it's cute - but it still tastes like sin

ずれる ずれる 崩れる zureru zureru kuzureru I'm slipping, slipping and collapsing
ずれる気が触れる zureru ki ga fureru Slipping and losing my mind
秘密ひとつで崩れる himitsu hitotsu de kuzureru With a single secret, everything falls apart
壊れる、ごめん kowareru, gomen It's being destroyed - I'm sorry

見ないで 理解出来ないでしょう? minaide rikai dekinai deshou? Don't look - it's not like you'd understand, right?[2]
まるで咲いてしまった 化けの花 marude saite shimatta bake no hana It's as if this flower of transformation has finally gone and bloomed
なにも言えない かき消せない nani mo ienai kakikesenai I can't say anything, I can't make it disappear
どんなに醜く映る化粧 donna ni minikuku utsuru keshou No matter how ugly my make-up is

見ないで 理解出来ないでしょう? minaide rikai dekinai deshou? Don't look - it's not like you'd understand, right?
まるで咲いてしまった 化けの花 marude saite shimatta bake no hana It's as if this flower of transformation has finally gone and bloomed
つぼみにはもう戻れない tsubomi ni wa mou modorenai And now it can't turn back into a bud

なにその目やっぱその目 nani sono me yappa sono me What's with that look? That look I knew you'd give me
だったら消えて みーんないなくなれ dattara kiete miinna inaku nare If you're going to look at me that way, then just disappear - eeeveryone should go away
いなくなれ いなくなれ inaku nare inaku nare Go away, go away
いなくなれ そばに居て inaku nare soba ni ite Go away - stay by my side

見ないで 理解出来ないでしょう? minaide rikai dekinai deshou? Don't look - it's not like you'd understand, right?
まるで咲いてしまった 化けの花 marude saite shimatta bake no hana It's as if this flower of transformation has finally gone and bloomed
なにも言えない かき消せない nani mo ienai kakikesenai I can't say anything, I can't make it disappear
どんなに醜く映る化粧 donna ni minikuku utsuru keshou No matter how ugly my make-up is

未来で 理解されないなら mirai de rikai sarenai nara If it won't be understood in the future
此処でさっさと消えて 化けの花 koko de sassa to kiete bake no hana Then this flower of transformation should disappear right here, right now
生まれた罰を終わらすように umareta batsu o owarasu you ni It's finally come around, my punishment for having been born. In order to put an end to it,
呼吸を止めて kokyuu o tomete I stop breathing
あーもういいや aa mou ii ya Ah, I'm fed up with this

English translation by JaysAndRavens47

Translation Notes

  1. 化けの皮 is an expression meaning "concealing one's true character" or even "a wolf in sheep's clothing". Here, 皮, or "skin" is replaced by 花, "flower". So "disguised in flowers" is another way to interpret the meaning of 化けの花. 化け has a nuance of ghostliness and/or monstrousness to it.
  2. This line can either be read as 見ないで 理解出来ないでしょう (Don't look - it's not as if you'd understand, right?" OR 見ないで理解出来ないでしょう (If you don't look properly, you won't be able to understand, will you?) It sounds as if the speaker wants to be truly seen for what they are and understood that way, rather than just being given brief dirty glances.
