Lyrics[]
Japanese | Romaji | English |
土砂降りの日には | doshaburi no hi ni wa | On a day of heavy rain, |
両手に傘をさせる | ryoute ni kasa o saseru | I make you hold an umbrella with both hands |
からからな喉に | karakara na nodo ni | I prepare water for two |
二人分の水をやる | futaribun no mizu o yaru | to quench our parched throats |
お茶会のあとで | ochakai no ato de | If you try coming into the kitchen |
キッチンにきてみたら | kicchin ni kite mitara | after the tea party, |
お揃いのカップの | osoroi no kappu no | you'll see that only one of our matching cups |
片方だけやけに綺麗 | katahou dake yake ni kirei | is awfully clean |
あなたの忘れ物は全部 | anata no wasuremono wa zenbu | All of your lost articles |
変わらないままで待ちぼうけ | kawaranai mama de machibouke | remain unchanged, waiting in vain |
あなたが梳かしてくれていた | anata ga tokashite kurete ita | You combed out my hair, |
わたしの癖だらけの髪を | watashi no kusedarake no kami o | which was full of curls[1], for me |
ひとけのない部屋ひとりきり | hitoke no nai heya hitorikiri | I just remember that in a room, |
思い出してるだけ | omoidashiteru dake | with no signs of life, on my own |
……忘れら令嬢! | ……wasurera reijou! | …… The forgotten lady[2]! |
おやすみのあとに | oyasumi no ato ni | After resting |
ダブルヘッダーの夢を見る | daburuheddaa no yume o miru | I dreamt of a double-header |
大好物のランチも | daikoubutsu no ranchi mo | Even when having my favourite food for lunch, |
向かいが居なけりゃ箸も亀 | mukai ga inakerya hashi mo kame | I use my chopsticks slowly[3] since you’re not there facing me |
神様が見たら相手にされるかしら | kamisama ga mitara aite ni sareru kashira | If God sees that, will he keep me company? |
瑠璃色の空が | ruriiro no sora ga | The lapis blue sky |
いつもより怖くなる | itsumo yori kowaku naru | becomes scarier than usual |
みんな上手に生きてるんだ | minna jouzu ni ikiteru nda | Everyone lives well, |
都合の悪いもの取り替えて | tsugou no warui mono torikaete | they replace what’s inconvenient |
よければ教えてくれますか | yokereba oshiete kuremasu ka | If it’s okay, will you please tell me, |
小さなわたしにしたように | chiisana watashi ni shita you ni | like how you told me when I was younger? |
素直で健気でまっすぐな | sunao de kenage de massugu na | With that honest, obedient, |
その笑い方を | sono waraikata o | and admirable smile of yours? |
あなたが忘れて行ったまま | anata ga wasurete itta mama | You kept forgetting |
首根に残る手のほとぼり | kubine ni nokoru te no hotobori | how you left the remaining heat from your hand on the scruff of my neck |
よければ教えてくれますか | yokereba oshiete kuremasu ka | If it’s okay, will you please tell me that |
その口から | sono kuchi kara | from that mouth of yours? |

Translation Notes[]
- ↑ Curls (kuse) are normally spelt in its hiragana/katakana form (くせ・クセ), but I chose to use it as the primary definition for this line since it appears to be the most likely one, and when considering the context; however the kanji spelling for kuse (癖) does translate to habits (usually negative ones) or tendencies, so the line can also be translated as “which was full of habits”
- ↑ 忘れら令嬢 appears to be a portmanteau of 忘れられた (wasurerareta) and 大令嬢 (Daireijou, the character’s POV for this song). Another way to interpret it could be "Forgotten Daireijou" but 令嬢 (reijou) does directly translate to a young lady/daughter
- ↑ 亀 (Kame) directly translates to turtle/tortoise, but it can provide a symbolic meaning for slowness.
