君と壊した砂の城を kimi to kowashita suna no shiro o The sand castle I destroyed with you
直して落とす言の葉 naoshite otosu kotonoha I fix it back up, and let fall a few words
そして拾い直して君に贈る soshite hiroi naoshite kimi ni okuru And then I pick them up and send them to you
君が「いた」僕の言葉を だからさ kimi ga ita boku no kotoba o dakara sa The words of mine which you “existed as”[1]. So then
もういいかい? mou ii kai? Are you ready?

僕の「哀」伝えたい言葉 boku no ai tsutaetai kotoba My “grief” (love)[2], the words I want to tell you
電話越しで伝えるよ、だから denwa goshide tsutaeru yo, dakara I’ll tell you through the phone, so

また砂の城を壊して遊ぼう matasuna no shiro o kowashite asobou Let’s destroy a sand castle and play again
もういいかい? mou ii kai? Are you ready?

English translation by novakiaki

Translation Notes[]

  1. the lyrics say 君が「いた」僕の言葉 , which might translate as “the words of mine which you existed as.” I took the quotation marks to mean it can possibly heard as 君が「言った」僕の言葉, or “the words of mine which you said.”
  2. the kanji 哀 for sorrow/grief, pronounced the same as 愛, the kanji for love
