  1. Cantabile is an Italian word that literally means "singable" or "songlike." Can also refer to a smooth singing style.
  2. An etude is a short musical composition. Chopin wrote an etude named “Wintry Wind” (Etude Op. 25, No. 11).
  3. A nocturne is a short composition of a romantic or dreamy character suggestive of night.
  4. 水の戯れ is the Japanese name for the piece Jeux d'eau, by the composer Ravel. According to wiki: The title is often translated as "Fountains," "Playing water," or literally "Water Games."
  5. Liebestraume, or Dreams of Love, was a piece by Franz Liszt.
  6. Campanella is an Italian word for “little bell.” On guitar, campanella fingering is the idea of playing a passage that could be played with multiple notes on a string across several strings.
  7. A rondo is a musical form with a recurring leading theme.
  8. A coda is the concluding passage of a piece or movement.
